Weddings

The Mayne Island Community Centre is a lovely, rural Gulf Islands venue for weddings. For rates and a further description of the facilities, see Rentals.

The grounds are quite beautiful and ideal for a special occasions. The centre is situated on five acres of meadow and surrounded by forest. In the warmer season (normally May to October) our marquee tent is up, for a total of 2400 sq. ft. of usable space.

The facility was designed with a bright, rural, West Coast ambience, featuring a huge skylight in the Main Room.

The Main Room has lovely high ceilings, with access to the outside or tent area via a large glass power door. A well equipped commercial kitchen is connected by a pass through window. See Rentals for more pictures.

When the marquee tent is in place, 100 people can be seated in this 1200 sq. ft. area, and with another 1220 sq. ft. in the Main Room, there is plenty of space for music and dancing!

The decor can be any way you want it. This wedding went with a very nice marine theme.

Our centre has everything you need for a fully catered event with 100 people: tables, cloths and chairs, place settings, wine glasses and champagne flutes, votives, warming trays and much more. A detailed inventory is available on request.

Testimonial

“Our wedding at the Mayne Island Community Centre was absolutely perfect! The space was beautiful and exactly what we needed to celebrate our special day with family and friends. We aren’t from the island, so planning from afar was made much easier knowing we had access to all the equipment, furniture, and kitchenware onsite. Natasha was very responsive, and made the whole planning process seamless. We really appreciated having such a wonderful venue that allowed us to create unforgettable memories. We highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a versatile and welcoming space for their event!” — Bernice and Chris

Booking

For booking information, please send an email to mayneislandcommunitycentre@gmail.com.

We will work with you to make your special occasion all that you hoped it would be. There are some considerations when booking a larger, private event. We take a refundable deposit to hold the date for you; the remaining fee is not due until 30 days before your event.

Permits

You may want to serve alcohol, in which case a Special Occasion Permit is required. This goes hand in hand with the necessary insurance, as a rider on your own policy, or secured from a company such as PAL for a one-time event. If you use a caterering service, they may have Foodsafe and a food permit, but if you are providing this service yourself, the permit must be obtained at least 2 weeks in advance of your date.

Local Service Providers

Our agent is in touch with a number of service providers who can assist with finding caterers, flowers, wedding officiates, accommodation and other services, if you would like to be married on site or anywhere on the island.
