Indoor sports are a great way to stay active during the cold, dark, and wet winter months. Sports are facilitated by volunteers and hosted by the Mayne Island Community Centre in partnership with Mayne Island School. See the announcement for more details.
Indoor sports Saturdays are made possible thanks to generous funding provided by Mayne Island Parks and Recreation.

- Sign the attendance sheet so that emergency service personnel can ensure everyone is safe in the event of an emergency.

Facilitator Guidelines
The Mayne Island Community Centre and Mayne Island School deeply appreciate your commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for everyone. Thank you!
As a facilitator, your program is covered by Mayne Island Community Centre insurance, free of charge, as long as:
- All participants are members of the Mayne Island Community Centre Society AND
- You host your program out of goodwill on a volunteer basis (i.e. you are not receiving payment).
Additionally, Mayne Island School requires:
- All attendees sign in and be notified of emergency exits. The attendance sheet will be given to emergency service personnel in the event of an evacuation.
- The facilitator has completed a criminal record check with the School District 64. We are happy to assist with this process.
Additional Instructions for Facilitators
- Remember the the Boy Scouts’ rule: “Leave the campground cleaner than you found it.” Give the gym a quick sweep (there are brooms around the corner) and tidy up any litter.
- If you are the first group to arrive, place the donation jar next to the sign up sheet.
- If you are the last group to leave, follow the instructions posted in the gym to turn off lights and lock doors. Collect the donation jar and pass it along to a Community Centre representative for accounting.
- A list of equipment is available on request.
Thank you for working hard to follow these instructions. Let us know how we can help you!
