Your donations, no matter the amount, are very gratefully received. Donations help empower the Mayne Island Community Centre to better serve our island community, and will also help make Phase 2 of the Community Centre possible.
Over time, demands for space are changing. We see a growing need for more multi-purpose meeting spaces for simultaneous usage of the facility. This will require a major fundraising effort. The Board would be happy to hear from anyone with ideas or expertise in this area! Original concept plans are available on request.
Acknowledgment
The Society had a goal to begin with private donations, avoiding a new tax burden for residents. So many generous donations from Mayne Islanders, large and small, have been the driving force in creating our Community Centre.
An Endowment Fund was created in 2003 based on these gifts, to be used only for maintenance and operating costs, not capital costs. This helps to keep user fees as low as possible. We want to maintain an extensive list of contributors without missing anyone. If you would like to credit someone or ensure you are included, please let us know.
